Privacy Policy

A Note From Our Team
Hey there! After countless cups of coffee and lengthy debates about commas, we finally hammered out this privacy policy. It explains what happens with your data when you visit CryptoOwns.com, our crypto blog. As people who’ve been writing about the crypto world since the days when Bitcoin was just a weird internet experiment, we totally understand why privacy is a big deal to our community.
Stuff We End Up Collecting
No beating around the bush here – this is what we gather:
Basic Contact Info: Your name and email if you’ve signed up for our newsletter or commented on posts. Sometimes your phone number, but only if you decide to share it with us. We don’t go hunting for it.
Behind-the-Scenes Tech Data: Those pesky IP addresses, what browser you prefer (Chrome users, we see you!), and what device you’re browsing on. Just the typical digital footprints most websites can see.
Site Usage: We notice which articles you read and which topics interest you. This helps us understand what content our readers prefer.
How We Actually Use Your Info
Look, we gotta be honest – we’re NOT one of those sketchy companies selling your data to the highest bidder. That’s just not our thing.
Here’s what we DO use your information for:
To improve the blog and provide you with more relevant crypto content.
Sometimes we’ll send you updates about new posts or interesting developments in the crypto world. And no, we’re not talking about daily “special offers” that clog your inbox! We hate that garbage too.
When things break (and they occasionally do), your data helps us figure out what went wrong with the site.
We also try to remember which crypto topics you like, so we can offer you content that will actually interest you.
As for how long we keep all this? We’re not digital hoarders. We hang onto things while you’re actively using our site, plus a bit longer for backups and because some laws make us. After that, it’s probably getting deleted when someone on our team does the digital equivalent of spring cleaning.
Legal Mumbo Jumbo (Sorry, But We Need This Part)
We have various legal reasons for processing your data:
Sometimes it’s needed to provide you with the blog’s content and services.
Other times, we have what lawyers call “legitimate interests” – basically, reasonable business needs that don’t trample your rights, like improving our content.
In some cases, you’ve explicitly told us it’s okay (that’s “consent” in legal-speak), like when you signed up for our newsletter.
And occasionally, laws require us to collect or keep certain info. Tax stuff, anti-fraud requirements – the fun parts of running a blog!
How We Keep Your Info Safe
We’ve got decent security – encryption, limited access to your data, and regular security check-ups.
Is our system absolutely 100% unhackable? No, and anyone who claims their system is perfect is lying to you. But we’ve taken reasonable steps to lock things down, and we’re always improving.
We’ve even got that guy in the office who keeps changing our passwords to things like “P@$$w0rd_C0mpl3x1ty_L3v3l_9000!” and then making us write them down because no one can remember them. (Just kidding… mostly.)
Kids Corner (or Rather, No Kids Corner)
Our service isn’t for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from minors, and if we find out we’ve accidentally done so, we’ll delete it faster than you can say “cryptocurrency.”
Questions? Concerns? Random Thoughts About Bitcoin?
Email us at [email protected]. We promise a human will read it. Probably the same human who’s been tasked with making sure we comply with privacy laws while writing the next post about NFTs. Send coffee.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end! Most people don’t. We’ve tried to keep this as painless as possible while still covering the important stuff.
